Meet Amy
It's not about me; it's about you. That's the first thing I want you to know. When I was in the corporate world, my employees could count on me to listen to them and discern their strengths (and weaknesses) so I could plug them into projects and roles where they would grow and thrive. I play a similar role as your fitness and wellness coach. I will listen to what you have to say, consider your history, illnesses, aches, pains, and the way your body currently wants to move. I will factor in your likes and dislikes when it comes to exercise and wellbeing, and work with you to create a program to help you reach your goals and thrive in your daily life - now and in the future.
Personally, I have tried to remain active throughout my life, in spite of (and because of) being mostly desk-bound for about 30 years. While cycling had been my sport and exercise of choice since the mid-1980s, I had the crazy idea to take up motorcycling in my late 30s and promptly wrecked and sustained two fractures in my spine. I had already been practicing Pilates for about three years prior to my accident, and I credit Pilates for speeding up my recovery and rehabilitation, helping me to regain mobility in my spine, and freeing me from back pain.
While I already have several fitness certifications and specializations, I am continually learning and keeping up with the latest science so that I am also progressing and growing and able to provide you with the most up-to-date information. I share much of this information on my blog, and you can sign up here to receive the latest on keeping fit mentally and physically as we age.

I also encourage all of my clients to take outdoor 'moving' breaks during the day and enjoy their own views, which is shown to have positive benefits on sleep, as well as mental and physical health. Let's get moving!
